Frequently used and heard terms recently with coronavirus outbreak

Turkey's Directorate of Communications shared the frequently used and heard terms recently with the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

The post shared from the Twitter account of the Directorate of Communications consists of definitions of the following terms, which began to be used frequently with the coronavirus recently:

Coronavirus: "A family of viruses which causes common cold to more severe illnesses such as the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)"

Covid-19: "A virus identified on January 13, 2020 as a result of the research conducted on a group of patients with respiratory symptoms in the Wuhan province of China"

Quarantine: "A health measure applied by keeping a certain area or place under control and restraining entry and exit in order to prevent the spread of a contagious disease"

Pandemic: "The term used for contagious diseases that threaten a large number of people simultaneously and extensively in the world"

Epidemia: "(Epidemic) A widespread occurrence of a disease or another condition"

Isolation: "(Insulation) The technique of keeping the patients away from healthy individuals in order to prevent the spread of the disease"

Infection: "General or local development and spread of a disease-causing microbe in the organism"

WHO: "World Health Organization".
