Hamas slams UNSC failure to pass resolution condemning zionist occupation regime

Hamas has denounced the failure of the UN Security Council in its recent session to pass a resolution condemning israel’s settlement construction or its designation of six Palestinian NGOs as terror groups.

In a press release on Thursday, head of Hamas’s foreign relations office Basem Naim said that such UN Security Council failure would encourage the zionist occupation state to persist in committing crimes against the Palestinian people and their rights and attacking Palestinian civil society organizations.

Naim pointed to the presence of an international consensus that settlements amount to war crimes and violate international law, including UN Security Council Resolution 2334.

He warned that such international cover provided for the zionist regime’s ongoing crimes would open the door wide open to more tension and instability, urging the international community to assume its responsibilities and take necessary steps to curb israel’s violations against the Palestinian people.
