Health Ministry limits MRI and tomography scans

The cost of MRI and tomography in Turkey is 1.7 billion a year said Şahin Aydın, Deputy General Manager of Health Information Systems, adding that, "The limitation on MRI and tomography scans have been imposed".

The cost to the state of MRI and tomography scans reached 1.7 billion Turkish Liras annually, announced by Şahin Aydın, Deputy General Manager of Health Information Systems of Health Ministry.

The Ministry of Health gave both patients and physicians access to all examinations of patients via e-Pulse.

With a new circular released by the Turkish Ministry of Health, new examinations will no longer be required without questioning the patient's current examinations except in emergency situations.

Repeated medical workup will not be reimbursed for the required medical workup if not being questioned.
