House fire killed 3 children in Düzce

Three children lost their lives in a house fire in the village of Hoşafoğlu, in Yığılca district of Düzce, west of Turkiye.

At least 3 children aged between 7 to 11 lost their lives in a house fire outbroke in Hoşafoğlu village near Yığılca district of Düzce province, in the Marmara region.

Regarding the issue in a written statement made by the Governor of Düzce, it was stated that an emergency phone call reported to 156 gendarmerie notice line that fire outbreaks in a house at around 05.00 a.m. in Hoşafoğlu village of Yığılca district.

The statement read that firefighters were immediately transferred to the scene where the house of Muhammed Korkmaz was still on fire. "In the research, it was learned that Muhammad Korkmaz flees the house with the help of his neighbors, while the three children; Medine İlham Korkmaz, 11, Emirhan Salih Korkmaz 9, and Umut Eren Korkmaz 7, were still in the burning house."

The statement continued that the fire was taken under control by firefighters who intervened in the fire at around 06.00 a.m. and the three children were found dead.

"The cause of the house fire has not yet been determined," said the governorate while it stated that an investigation was launched by the public prosecutor into the fire.
