Imam Hatip schools set a good example to the Islamic world, Erdoğan says

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a symposium titled “Imam Hatip Schools on the 70th Anniversary of Their Reopening and Religion Education in Turkey”.

Delivering a speech at the symposium held in Istanbul, President Erdoğan drew attention to the reputation of Imam Hatip schools and said: “These schools, where life and social sciences, as well as religious lessons, are taught, set a good example to the Islamic world with their unique education model. 1,200 foreign secondary and high-school students from over 89 countries in the world study at Imam Hatip schools in our country. This figure will inshallah increase in both our country and the world, as Imam Hatip schools’ role in the fight against such terrorist organizations as FETO, DAESH, Al-Shabab and Boko Haram, which feed on the exploitation of religion, is better understood.”
