Independence referendum voting starts in Iraqi Kurdistan

Voting for an independence referendum in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region began.

The polling stations established at 12 thousand points are voting began at 08.00 local times. Voters will be able to use their votes until 6 pm.

In this context, Iraqi Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani used his vote in numbered 2 polling station near his residence in Saladin [Pirmam] town near Erbil (Hewlêr). After Barzani, his son Mansur Barzani used his vote.

According to the IKRG High Election and Referendum Commission, 5 million 200 thousand voters are expected to participate in the referendum.
