Iraqi PM to submit resignation

After deadly anti-government protests, Iraqi Prime Minister Abdul Mahdi announced that he will submit official resignation to Iraq's Parliament on Friday.

Abdul Mahdi said on Friday that he hopes the parliament will explore all the option after his resignation to address the current unrest in the country and meet protesters demands.

The decision came after Iraqi security forces shot 62 people dead nationwide on Thursday.

The two months of bloody protests against the government have left more than 400 dead and 15,000 wounded so far.
