Istanbulites go to polls to elect city's mayor

After the Supreme Election Board's decision canceled the March 31 elections in Istanbul, the people of Istanbul once again go to the polls on Sunday.

Following the decision of the Supreme Election Board (YSK) canceled the March 31 election results for Istanbul, millions of Istanbul residents today go to the polls to elect the mayor of Istanbul.

10,560, 963 voters will vote again today at 31,342 polling stations in Istanbul. The voting process starts at 8: 00 and ends at 17: 00 local time.

The residents of Istanbul will elect the mayor of Istanbul who will serve for 5 years. Four parties and 17 independent candidates compete for the Istanbul metropolitan municipality presidency.

Same ballot papers used on March 31 were used in the re-election. The paper includes Saadet party, Vatan Party, CHP and AK Party logos respectively.
