Matthew Bryza, the former US Ambassador to Baku and Turcas Petrol Board Member said that the tensions between Ankara and Erbil would find a way to end after Iraqi Kurdistan's independence referendum, added that Kirkuk's oil will be exported to world markets via Turkiye again.
“Turkiye is the only way for Kurdistan's energy resources to convert into money. Turkiye is in a really strong position. I believe that the tension between the Kurdistan Region and Turkiye eventually will fall. I believe that export of energy resources in Kirkuk will continue. About 100 million barrels of oil is consumed a day on Earth and exports from the north of Iraq correspond to less than one percent of this amount. But the transport of these exports to the international market via Turkiye has the potential to develop long-term cooperation between Turkiye, the Kurdistan Region, and the Iraqi government,” said Bryza.
