In a country whose people are Muslims and who are strictly bound to this identity, reaction is growing like an avalanche to the "Humor" magazine “GIRGIR”, which is distributed free of charge by the Sözcü Newspaper, responded to the publication of insulting cartoons to Moses.
Indignity of Allah's prophets, Islam and its sacred values in different countries of Europe creates an indignation in the Islamic world, the same recklessness in Turkiye, where the people are Muslims with this sensitivity known, reacted greatly.
Especially in the social media, there is a huge reaction to the cartoons and the magazine that publishes it.
While the chaos trying to be raised by the imperialists in the Islamic geography, especially in Syria, it is considered a provocative attempt to publish such a vile and blatantly caricature article in a sensitive period like the referendum process in which the amendment of the constitution is voted in Turkiye.
In recent days, the increase of verbal and actual attacks in some cities for headscarved girls, the reactions and the sensitivity of the society in the middle of this issue, "GIRGIR" magazine published such a cartoon which brought a question to mind is there a project in the background to be published.
"GIRGIR" magazine published different cartoons for Allah's prophets and sacred values in the previous issues. However, the last published cartoon seems more than ordinary caricature which contains bad words [swears].
Of course, the attacks against Islam, its sacrifices and sanctities are not new. As it can be remembered, in 2015 in France Charlie Hebdo named magazine published a cartoon with an insult to Prophet Muhammad, and after a massive indignation, the magazine was attacked by armed men. After that, Cumhuriyet Newspaper published similar cartoons to show that they are in solidarity with Charlie Hebdo.
As if this was not enough, the writers of Cumhuriyet Newspaper, Ceyda Karan and Hikmet Çetinkaya, had cartoons included insulting Prophet Muhammad.
The history of insulting Islam and its sanctuaries in Turkiye dates back to the past years. To be remembered, the writer of the Aydınlık Newspaper, Aziz Nesin, made quotes from Salman Rushdie's book "Satanic verses" and published it in his journal which took strong reactions.
From yesterday to today, the main goal of all of these publications has always been to prepare various provocations. One side tried to make the sanctities of Islam ordinary by insults and the other side tried to create polarization and conflicts in the society by annoying people.
Today "GIRGIR" cartoon humor magazine, which is published by the dirty ambitions to serve, it is curious that who has designed of such publications as a cartoon drawn.
While it is observed that Kemalist and nationalist press organizations have used a very provocative language in the recent period, the "GIRGIR" magazine, which is published by Sözcü Newspaper in this way as a free adjective, insulting Moses is seen as the most important demonstration of this.
While the reactions of thousands of people to the relevant newspaper and magazine have grown like an avalanche, the most noteworthy of shares are these:
President's Chief Advisor Abraham Kalın: The name of this is not freedom of humor and expression, it is a crime of immorality and hate. I strongly condemn this disrespect for the sanctities.
HUDA PAR General Administrative Board Member Vedat Turgut: The cartoons of the draught Gırgır insulting Moses cannot be passed with a disability that is not better than the misdemeanor. We strongly condemn it.
Journalist Author Salih Tuna: The "humor" magazine, which abused Prophet Moses in a disgusting manner, is not the "gırgır" of Oğuz Aral, but the "gırgır" of Sözcü Newspaper of the crypto-FETO. (ILKHA)
