"No need" to resume operation in Syria: Turkish Defense Ministry

There is no further need at this stage for resuming the operation in northern Syria, Turkish Defense ministry statement read Wednesday

Underlining that at the end of a 120-hour ceasefire the U.S. reported that the withdrawal of the PKK/YPG group from a designated safe zone region was completed, Turkish Defense Ministry said, "there is "no need" to resume its operation against PKK/YPG members in northern Syria."

Following the agreement between Turkey and the United States, Ankara agreed to halt the operation for 120 hours to allow the withdrawal of YPG/PKK members from the planned safe zone on October 17.
