People in Iraqi Kurdistan Region said “yes”

“Yes” came out from the “independence” referendum organized by the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government.

In the referendum held in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, according to unconfirmed results, 93 percent said “yes”, 6.8 percent used “no” vote.

The voting process started at 08.00 local times until 19.00 yesterday. According to the High Commission for Elections and Referendum of the Kurdistan Region, about 4 million people are reported to have the right to vote.

It was also reported that 78 percent contributed to the “Independence referendum”.
