The accident took place on Saturday morning while the helicopter was performing a reconnaissance operation against illicit drug trafficking, the statement said.
There were 12 people on board, according to the statement.
Five servicemen were killed, five others received minor injuries, they are provided with the necessary medical assistance.
The search is underway for two more people.
