President Erdoğan holds a phone conversation with Trump

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has spoken by phone with U.S. President Donald Trump earlier Friday evening.

According to the Presidential source, both leaders discussed bilateral issues and the most recent developments in Syria, including security issues and counter-terrorism efforts.

"The President has shared with President Trump Turkey’s legitimate security concerns caused by the presence and actions of the terrorist organization PKK/PYD/YPG," the statement read, released by the Turkish Presidency.

The Presidential source quoted that the two leaders agreed on the need for more effective coordination within the context of Syria.
