President Erdoğan welcomed with official ceremony in Iran

President Erdoğan was welcomed by President Rouhani with an official ceremony prior to the meeting at the Sa’dabad Cultural-Historical Complex.

President Erdoğan was welcomed by Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran Mohammad Shariatmadari, Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Rıza Hakan Tekin and other officials at Mehrabad International Airport. Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar, who had earlier gone to Iran for various talks, was also present at the welcoming.

Erdoğan was welcomed with an official ceremony later by Rouhani at the Sa’dabad Palace. The talks are expected to address the two countries' relations, the referendum in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, and the latest situation in Syria.

Accompanying President Erdoğan in Iran are Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak, Minister of Customs and Trade Bülent Tüfenkci, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmuş, Minister of National Defense Nurettin Canikli and AK Party Deputy Chairman Mehdi Eker.
