Scorching temperatures raise risk of brain hemorrhage

Warning especially hypertension and diabetes patients not to go outdoor at noon, experts noted that the warm weather in Turkey, which is above normal in the season, increases the risk of a brain hemorrhage.

Dr. Hüseyin Karasu, an expert in Brain and Neurosurgery pointed out that the warm weather that has been observed above the normal season in recent days in Turkey increases the risk of brain bleeding, warned people that not to go out, especially at noon.

Mr. Karasu warned that the seasonal temperatures above normal increase the risk of brain hemorrhage especially for patients with hypertension and diabetes, "These type of patients should not go out at noon, should not stay in the heat for long periods of time and do not exert too much effort in the heat," he said.

He pointed out that rising air temperatures cause many health problems. "As a result of the deterioration of the integrity of the brain vessels, the accumulation of blood in or on the brain causes a brain hemorrhage.

Underlining that brain hemorrhage, usually caused by accidents and trauma, can also be seen due to high blood pressure during summer periods when the air temperature rises above seasonal normal, Karasu noted that symptoms of brain hemorrhage vary depending on severity and bleeding.

Mr. Karasu listed the symptoms of a brain hemorrhage, which can leave permanent damage on the patient when not taken into account, as follows:

"The most common complaints after brain hemorrhage are sudden and severe headaches. For this reason, headaches should always be considered.

In addition, vomiting, lethargy, inability to move any part of the body, paralysis, loss of consciousness, speech disorder, sleep tendency, epilepsy can also lead to complaints.

The person suffering from a brain hemorrhage should be taken to the health institution as soon as possible without moving the body too much. Because sometimes the patient's life can be saved with intervention within minutes or disability can be prevented."
