Statements from Bozdağ on the visa crisis with the United States

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesman Bekir Bozdağ have made important statements about the visa crisis with the United States.

Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesman Bekir Bozdağ made explanations in a TV program he participated on the mutual suspension of visa procedures between Turkiye and the United States.

Bozdağ said, "The decision has been taken between the two countries to come together and work on this issue,” said Bozdağ.

Bozdağ's explanations are as follows:

- The testimony of the local employee of the US who is a Turkish citizen was taken before his lawyer both in police and in prosecutor’s office. It is not possible to do these without a lawyer. I think there is a lack of information on this issue.

- The foreign affairs channel that needs to be applied. A visit permit is requested and it can be allowed. Because the Minister of Justice can go and talk individually, or send a lawyer. This is also the case in a diplomatic way and in a legal way. Then need to follow these paths. Not to gather media and say: ‘There is a revenge thought here’.
