"We will sell our car if it goes like this"
Zeyneddin Oğuz, one of the drivers who showed his reaction to the 40 percent raise, said: “So the government will take all its needs from us? We will sell our car, so it is over. I would understand if the raise was 5 or 10 percent. It's a shame for them. It is not good at all. They should revise this right away.”
“The rise is too much”
Driver Cebrail Yalçın said that the 40 percent raise is too much demanded the decrease and said: “There shouldn’t be a raise every two days. 40 percent is too much. 5 percent or 7 percent would be normal. But 40 percent is too much. We ask the authorities to drop it.”
“The raise made is nothing but persecution”
Tacettin Demir, who stated that the tax on the Motor Vehicles Tax is unfair, said: “The tax raise is a tyranny. We cannot pay our taxes anymore, there is a crisis, and the Iraqi door is going to be closed. People are making their living in hard ways and on this, the government makes a raise. This is nothing but persecution.”
“It is officially robbery”
Driver Mahmut Beyaz, who stated that the MTV raise is robbery, said: “Turkiye has not left anyone as a friend. Now trying to steal its own citizens. What is this they are doing? It's officially robbery. 40 percent tax raise, raise to the diesel every day... Raise raise raise, how long will it go like this? The raise is too much, they should drop it right away. There is no application like this anywhere in the world, only we have it.”
“How are we going to pay that much money?”
Mehdi İpek also expressed that they cannot afford the expense of their vehicle and said: “MVT has made 40 percent hike all at once. It's not fair, if we had 5 percent, it would be normal, but that's too much. In the past, we paid 600 Turkish Liras and now it will be 1000 TL. How are we going to pay? We will pay twice a year. Only 2 thousand to MVT, also there's the insurance, there is the examination of the car. How will it be, how will we pay for it? That's too much, they should be dropped.”
