The answer is simple they stole the votes: President Erdoğan

Stating that very serious irregularities were made in the elections in Istanbul, very serious mistakes were detected, President Erdoğan said: "The answer is very simple, they stole the votes. Now we will give this struggle in this election."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed AK Party deputies at an iftar program, evaluated agenda topics. "The most important job in the coming days is to rerun the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality election."

Stating that election supreme board has rightly decided to rerun Istanbul election, President Erdoğan said: "The decision is not based solely on irregularities in the polls. Very serious irregularities were made in the elections in Istanbul, very serious mistakes were detected."

"The answer is very simple, they stole the votes. Now we will give this struggle in this election. There are those who stole votes on one side, those who have a national will on the other, and we will do this now."

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared iftar with AK Party deputies at the party HQ in Ankara.

Addressing AK Party deputies during iftar program in Ankara, President Erdoğan noted that the entire world is closely following the process regarding the mayoral election in Istanbul.

"Politics is the art of winning over people. We will prepare for the upcoming period without excluding, hurting, ignoring or showing disloyalty to any brothers and sisters of ours and by winning over new people," he noted.

"The entire world is following the mayoral election in Istanbul," he added.
