The first snowfall of the season occurs in Diyarbakir

Diyarbakir residents woke to a rare blanket of snow covering cars, streets and buildings on Tuesday.

Diyarbakir, one of the largest cities in the Kurdish region of Turkey, was looking particularly scenic with its white winter coat.

Snow and cold weather impacted on all transportation networks of the city in the very early hours of the morning.

The snow will continue over the next hours of the day, according to the Turkish State Meteorological Service.
