"The issue between the state and Kurds is about equality and justice in representation"

"The issue between the state and Kurdish is about equality and justice in representation," said AK Party Deputy Orhan Miroğlu related to the Kurdish issue.

The Media Assembly program organized by the Mardin Journalists and Writers Society was held by the participation of AK Party Mardin deputy Orhan Miroğlu and close to 30 journalists.

Speaking at the program held at the Social Facilities of Artuklu University, Miroğlu talked about the Kurdish issue and the February 28 trials.

"It is unacceptable that the victims of February 28 are still in prisons"

Stating that the February 28 period was a coup and as a citizen, he also is a victim, Miroğlu said, "I am the victim of the coup too but I am not a special victim. There are very special victims of (February 28). There are people in prison, people who have lost their reputation, people who have lost their status, people with heartbroken injuries, and people with broken honors."

Miroğlu also criticized the 90s period, said, "I am looking at those JITEM cases, there have no results. We do not know the responsibilities (perpetrators) of thousands of unsolved murders."

"The Kurdish issue is about equality and justice in representation"

Reminding that the solution of the Kurdish issue has started with the AK Party first with the Oslo process, Miroğlu said, "After the result of the solution process, the majority of the population has reached to a conclusion that there won't be a solution with the PKK. In this case, of course, this problem cannot be ignored. Citizens living in the region have problems. The Kurdish issue in Turkiye; not the status issue, the issue between the state and the Kurds in Turkiye is the democracy matter, is a matter of equality, justice issues in representation."

"Democracy and justice are needed!" he said and noted that the negotiation of democracy and justice with the PKK was wrong.

"The Kurdish issue caused the PKK"

"The Kurdish issue is not a PKK issue, but the PKK issue is, in my view, a part of the Kurdish issue," said Miroğlu, also emphasized that the Kurdish issue caused the PKK to emerge. "If the right choices were made, the PKK would not emerge. Sometimes, at the crossroads of the state, the state makes a mistake and pays a heavy price; sometimes the people make a mistake. If the state had correctly diagnosed the raid of Eruh and Semdinli in 1984, it would not be bloodshed so much," he said.
