"They call him a spy, I'm more spy than him"

"They call him a Spy, but I am more a Spy than he is," tweeted US President Trump about priestAndrew Brunson, who is under arrest in Turkiye.

The U.S. President Donald Trump issued a message through his Twitter account related to priest Andrew Brunson, who is imprisoned in Turkiye on the grounds of crimes he committed and espionage on the name of FETO and PKK.

Accusing that priest Brunson is innocent, Trump said, "They call him a Spy, but I am more a Spy than he is."

In a message he shared in his official twitter account, Trump defended that the priest Brunson as an innocent and being persecuted for no reason. "Pastor Andrew Brunson, a fine gentleman and Christian leader in the United States, is on trial and being persecuted in Turkey for no reason. They call him a Spy, but I am more a Spy than he is. Hopefully he will be allowed to come home to his beautiful family where he belongs!" Trump said.

Trump had previously requested the release of Brunson in talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Brunson, who was sentenced to 35 years in prison, had not accepted the accusations directed at him in the court he was taken for the first time. The next hearing of the case was set on May 7.
