Three arrested over killing an indian crested porcupine

Three people arrested in Turkiye's Şanlıurfa over killing an indian crested porcupine. Indian crested porcupine is under protection in Turkiye for the danger of extinction.

The incident took place in Siverek, district of Şanlıurfa, an eastern province of Turkiye. Some 3 people, who have killed indian crested porcupine and shared over social media, were arrested by police on Tuesday.

In order to capture people sharing their video on social sharing sites on March 3, 2019, by killing an indian crested porcupine, which is in danger of extinction, it was determined that the incident occurred in Karacaören Neighborhood District of Siverek in Şanlıurfa province as a result of a research carried out by gendarmerie command teams.

On March 4, 2019, the Prosecutor General of the Republic was informed of the identification and addresses of the individuals who took part in the incident, and suspects were apprehended and detained in Viranşehir district.
