Traffic accidents take 52 lives during Eid holiday, 427 injured

At least 52 people lost their lives and 427 people hurt in Turkey during the Eid al-Adha holiday started on Friday, August 9, and lasted on Wednesday, August 14.

Some 11 people have been killed and 79 injured in accidents in the past 24 hours, Turkish Interior Ministry announced.

Interior Ministry said 116,236 traffic personnel charged on all routes throughout the country, especially in the centers where traffic intensity during the holiday period and 560 personnel were assigned to conduct inspections as passengers on buses.

Passengers and drivers were warned to wear seat belts from the moment they got in the vehicle, including buses, for excessive speed, seatbelts, non-use of mobile phones and giving way to pedestrians under the" Red Whistle "and "make your seatbelt sound " campaigns.
