It was stated that a tunnel of about 40 meters long was found which still being excavated from Nusaybin district of Mardin to Syria for use in the transfer of personnel, weapons, and ammunition by PKK/PYD members.
The statement made by the Governor of Mardin included the following statements:
“Due to the intensive work carried out by the Governor and MIT Regional Directorate coordination and with the contributions of the 70th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command, with the aim of ensuring the border security of our province with a 151.6 km border with Syria, On August 17, 2017, a tunnel of approximately 40 m long and was still being excavated from Nusaybin to Syria for use of PKK/KCK’s personnel /weapons/ammunition transfers to our country was founded.”
