Turkey: 114,426 road motor vehicle registrations were recorded in October

In October 114,426 road motor vehicle registrations were recorded, according to the statement released by Turkish Statistical Institute on Friday.

Regarding the vehicle registrations in October, cars accounted for 62.0%, followed by motorcycles 16.1%, small trucks 13.9%, tractors 5.0%, trucks 2.0%, minibus 0.5%, buses 0.4% and special purpose vehicles 0.1%

The number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 8.2% compared with the previous month

In October, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 29.7% and 6.4% for cars and tractors while it decreased by 80.1%, 22.6%, 21.5%, 15.4%, 11.9% and 7.7% for special purpose vehicles, motorcycles, minibuses, trucks, buses and small trucks respectively.

The number of road motor vehicles registered increased by 68.1% compared with the same month of the previous year

In October, compared with the same month of the previous year, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 235.9%, 132.9%, 113.7%, 82.6%, 63.5%, 53.5% and 6.5% for special purpose vehicles, trucks, small trucks, tractors, cars, motorcycles and buses respectively while it decreased by 13.7% for minibuses.

At the end of October, the total number of road motor vehicles registered reached 23,965,229

At the end of October, cars represented 54.2%, small trucks 16.3%, motorcycles 14.6%, tractors 8.0%, trucks 3.6%, minibuses 2.1%, buses 0.9% and special purpose vehicles 0.3% of total number of road motor vehicles registered.

833,754 road motor vehicles handed over in October

Among vehicles handed over in October, cars accounted for 70.0% followed by small trucks 16.0%, motorcycles 5.8%, tractors 3.4%, trucks 2.2%, minibuses 2.0%, buses 0.5% and special purpose vehicles 0.1%.

In October, 70,934 cars were registered to the traffic

In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the new registered cars in October, Renault recorded 15.3%, Fiat 14.5%, Volkswagen 10.9%, Toyota 7.8%, Opel 5.3%, Hyundai 4.7%, Skoda 4.6%, Ford 4.3%, Peugeot 3.8%, Citroen 3.3%, Audi 3.1%, Nissan 3.0%, Honda 3.0%, Dacia 2.8%, Kia 2.5%, BMW 2.4%, Mercedes-Benz 2.2%, Seat 1.5%, Volvo 1.3%, Jeep 0.8% and the other trademarks 2.8% of the total. 

In the period of January-October 850,969 road motor vehicles were registered

In January-October period compared to the same period of previous year, the number of registered vehicles increased by 57.5% and became 850,969, while the number of withdrawn road motor vehicles decreased by 84.4% and became 39,571. Hence, in the period of January-October the increase in motor vehicles registered became 811,398.

In the period of January-October the ratio of cars registered using gasoline was 50.0%

Among 480,472 cars registered in the period of January-October, the share of gasoline-fuelled cars was 50.0% followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 41.2%, LPG-fuelled cars with 5.5% and electric or

hybrid cars with 3.3%. At the end of October, among 12 million 978 thousand 106 registered cars, the share of diesel-fuelled cars was 38.3% followed by LPG-fuelled cars with 36.9% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 24.4%. The share of electric or hybrid cars was 0.2% and the cars with unknown fuel type was 0.3%. 

Most frequent engine size was 1401-1500 for registered cars in the period of January-October

Within 480 thousand 472 cars registered to traffic in January-October period, 30.9% had 1401-1500, 24.5% of them had engine size 1501-1600, 23.4% had 1300 or less, 14.6% had 1301-1400, 5.7% had 1601-2000, 0.8% had 2001 and above.

In the period of January-October 229,490 of cars registered were white

Within 480,472 cars registered to traffic in January-October period, 47.8% of them were white, 26.5% were grey, 7.3% were blue, 7.0% were red, 6.9% were black, 1.6% were orange, 1.3% were brown, 0.7% were yellow, 0.2% were green and 0.7% were in other colors.
