Turkey condemns Tunisian president's decision to dismiss government

Turkish presidential spokesperson İbrahim Kalın has shared a post on his Twitter account regarding the Tunisian president's decision to freeze Parliament and fire the government.

“We reject the suspension of the democratic process and the disregard of the democratic will of the people in Tunisia. We condemn initiatives that lack constitutional legitimacy and popular support. We believe that Tunisian democracy will emerge from this process by strengthening,” Kalın said.

On Sunday, Tunisian president Kais Saied decided to suspend parliament and fire prime minister Hichem Mechichi after a day of protests against the ruling party.
