Turkey denies news report about Central Bank Governor Kavcıoğlu

Turkish Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun stated that Reuters’ report about the Governor of Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye Şahap Kavcıoğlu was fake news.

Noting that Foreign Policy also reported fabricated news about Turkey in a post he shared on his social media account, Director of Communications Altun used that report as an example of “fake news”.

In his post, Altun said, “Fake news used to be a problem on social media. It seems that the mainstream media, too, suffers from the same issue now. That even major organizations spread such lies is deeply concerning. Both are fake news.”
