Turkey launches investigation into the statement released by 103 retired admirals

Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that it has launched an investigation into the statement released by 103 retired generals.

Many politicians from the ruling Justice and Development Party had blamed the admirals for implicitly calling for a military coup in the country.

“On April 4, 2021, our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation in order to identify those who prepared the statement, which was shared on some websites and social media under the heading of the 'Montreux Statement from 103 Admiral', to evaluate and perform the legal requirement,” the office said.
