In a statement posted on his Twitter account, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca shared the latest official coronavirus figures in the country on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the number of confirmed cases rose to 236,112, after 1,178 more people tested positive for the virus over the past 24 hours.
While 583 patients are in critical condition, 219,506 patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital.
5,027,308 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted to detect infections in the country.
