According to the statement, the number of confirmed cases rose to 7,039,500, after 25,861 more people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
While at least 633 patients are in critical condition, around 6,5 million patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital.
About 85 million tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted to detect infections in the country.
