Turkey sends medical supplies to Afghanistan amid coronavirus pandemic

Turkey has sent medical supplies to Afghanistan, Turkish Defense Ministry announced on Twitter on Sunday.

“A Turkish Armed Forces aircraft, carrying the medical supplies, prepared at the direction of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, by the health ministry for use against the COVID-19 outbreak, took off from Ankara Etimesgut Airbase for Afghanistan,” the Ministry tweeted.

Turkey has so far sent aid and medical supplies to over 60 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain, to support efforts against coronavirus pandemic.
