Turkey to ban electronic cigarettes

Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has announced that electronic cigarettes will be banned, including entry into the country.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, answering questions from journalists at the opening reception of the new legislative year of parliament, said electronic cigarettes would be banned, including entry into the country.

The minister said there is a new study on smoking and they are working on a new regulation.

"We know that the best areas are reserved for smokers, and those who don't smoke are given areas further behind," said the minister.

"There comes regulation and a new definition about it. Semi-open and closed space is being exploited," he added while added that there will be an approach in the new regulation that defines the semi-open system as well as the closed but clarifies what the open space should be like.
