Turkey to pay 1.2 billion liras to farmers

Farmers in Turkey will be paid 1.2 billion Turkish Liras support announced Tuesday Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli.

Turkey's Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli announced that farmers will be paid 1.2 billion liras in support on Tuesday, August 6.

Speaking on the agenda, Minister Pakdemirli said Yusufeli dam will be completed in June 2021. "It will be with a height of 275 meters when completed."

Answering a question regarding electric tractor, Minister Pakdemirli said: "Our main goal is not to produce this tractor as a state, but to make the private sector produce it and we give incentives in this regard. The necessary support will be provided."

The minister of Agriculture and Forestry also said the remaining 30 percent of oilseed grain support would be paid on Tuesday, August 6.
