Turkey’s industrial production increased by 9.0% annually

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has released the industrial production statistics for December 2020.

According to the TurkStat figures, when the subsectors of the industry (based on 2015=100) were examined, the mining and quarrying index increased by 6.0%, manufacturing index increased by 9.5%, and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply index increased by 4.9% in December 2020, compared with the same month of the previous year.

Industrial production increased by 1.3% monthly

When the subsectors of the industry were examined, while the mining and quarrying index increased by 3.5%, the manufacturing index increased by 1.4%, and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply index decreased by 1.4% in December 2020, compared with the previous month.

Industrial production increased by 10.1% compared with the same quarter of the previous year

In the fourth quarter of 2020, calendar-adjusted industrial production increased by 10.1% compared with the same quarter of the previous year. The seasonally and calendar-adjusted industrial production increased by 4.8% compared with the previous quarter.
