Turkey’s National Security Council to convene under Erdoğan’s chairmanship

The meeting at the Presidential Complex will begin at 15:30 on Thursday, according to the Turkish presidency.

The recent developments in Afghanistan and the operations of the Turkish Armed Forces in Syria, Iraq, and Libya will be on the agenda

The meeting will also discuss operations against PKK/YPG, FETO, and ISIS, as well as other security issues.

A written statement will be issued after the meeting.

The National Security Council (MGK) is the principal government agency used by the President of Turkey, the Commander-in-chief, to consider national security, military, and foreign policy matters with senior national security officials and coordinate these policies among various government agencies.

Like the national security councils of other countries, the MGK develops the national security policy.
