Turkish court upholds prison sentences of Demirtaş and Önder

The 2nd Criminal Chamber of Istanbul Regional Administrative Court upheld the sentences of former HDP Co-Chairperson Selahattin Demirtaş and HDP former deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder on charges of making propaganda for an "armed terrorist organization".

The 2nd Criminal Chamber of the Istanbul Regional Administrative Court on Tuesday upheld the sentences imposed by the local court on HDP's former Co-Chairperson Selahattin Demirtaş and HDP's former deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder.

Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court charged Selahattin Demirtaş on making propaganda for an armed terrorist organization for 4 years and 8 months. HDP Former Ankara Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

The penalties were approved by the decision of the 2nd Criminal Chamber of the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice.
