Turkish police seize 107 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey

Two suspects were arrested on charges of drug trafficking in the Saray district of Turkey’s eastern Van province on Monday.

A total of 107 kg of heroin was seized during a search in a house in the Çakmakköy neighborhood of the Saray district, the Provincial Police Department said in a statement.

Two suspected drug dealers will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.

Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years.
