Turkstat announces inflation figures for Turkey

The Turkish Statistical Institute announced inflation figures for September of this year.

A rise in the general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 0.99%, on December of the previous year by 8.42%, on the same month of the previous year by 9.26% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 18.27% in September 2019.

In September 2019, the indices rose for clothing and footwear 2.13%, for miscellaneous goods and services 2.09%, for alcoholic beverages and tobacco 1.79% and transportation 1.61%.

In September 2019, the indices declined for recreation and culture 0.53% and for communication 0.07%.

Health with 15.41%, miscellaneous goods, and services with 14.98%, hotels, cafes and restaurants with 14.87% and education with 14.00% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.

A rise in CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 0.99%, on December of the previous year by 7.95%, on same month of the previous year by 8.90% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 17.56% in September 2019.In September 2019 within average prices of 418 items in the index, average prices of 42 items remained unchanged while average prices of 292 items increased and average prices of 84 items decreased.
