Two Kurdish fighters killed in ISIS attack in northern Iraq

Two Peshmerga fighters have been killed in the ISIS attack in disputed Kirkuk province, Kurdistan Region General Directorate of Counter Terrorism (CTD) said in a statement.

At least one Peshmerga was wounded in the attack, according to the statement.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), which now leads the regional government, confirmed the attack and offered condolences to the families of the victims in a post shared on its Twitter account.

“Two members of the Peshmerga were martyred this evening in an armed attack by ISIS terrorists in The Prde area, Kirkuk Governorate. Our condolences to the families and friends of the two Martyrs,” the party said.
