U.S. delegation heading Turkey for safe-zone talks

Speaking on "safe-zone" plans, Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hami Aksoy said, "Talks will continue with the US military delegation, which will arrive in our country on the week of 5 August."

Stating that Turkey has re-transferred its basic expectations to the US side, Aksoy expressed those expectations as; the depth of the region [safe-zone] to be 32 kilometers, Turkey to control the safe zone, and the removal of PYD/YPG from the region.

Aksoy underlined that Turkey will have to establish the "safe zone" on its own if both, the U.S. and Turkey cannot meet in common. "We express this [plan] to our U.S. counterparts at all levels."

"Talks will continue with the US military delegation that will arrive in our country the week of August 5," Aksoy said.
