Roj Peshmerga General Commander Şervan Derki told Iraqi Kurdistan media group Rudaw that Peshmerga was going to Syria Kurdistan which controlling by PYD. Derki said that, this claim was officially announced by the United States.
According to Derki’s statements, Roj Peshmerga Union (Peshmerga of Rojava), who are trained in the Kurdistan Region and whose number will rise to 10 thousand, will pass to Rojava.
6 thousand Roj Peshmergas were deployed along an area of 80 kilometers at the border of South Kurdistan - Syria Kurdistan (Rojava), Derki said that the United States had officially informed them of their plans to move to Syria Kurdistan.
"Our plan is to raise the number of peshmerga to 10 thousand in the coming period. The training cycle for the newly joined Peshmergas is continuing. The US officially requested that we prepare for Rojava and go to Rojava, but PKK and YPG opposed it.”
Thinking that there is not only PKK and YPG in this obstacle, Derki said that bigger powers play this game, saying “Iran and Syria are blocking the transfer of Roj Pesmergas to Rojava.”
The peshmerga official, who does not want the name to be disclosed, said that if the PKK attacked them in Şengal, they would be able to carry the war to Syria Kurdistan, "the numbers of Roj Peshmergas are not small and there may be a harder response." (ILKHA)
