Speaking at the opening ceremony of the academic year held at Bingöl University, AK Party Deputy Chairman Cevdet Yılmaz said, “Inflation will fall to single-digit figures in December at the end of this year, and we expect it to drop to lower levels in 2018. But we are not the desired point about unemployment.”
In 2002, the national income of Turkiye was 230 billion dollars; the per capita income is around 3 thousand 500 dollars, reminiscent Yılmaz stated that in the last 15 years, 230 billion dollars have increased to 860 billion dollars.
Yılmaz said that since 2007, the world is still on the effects of the global crisis which affected Turkiye too: “There are many events from the 17th to 25th of December to the 15th of July. In our region, there are great instabilities in the Middle East. Our per capita income has risen from 3 thousand 500 to 11 thousand and our population has increased from 66 million to 80 million since 2002. Our exports were 36 billion dollars in 2002. This amounted to 143 billion dollars last year and it is going well this year.”
“We are not at the desired point about unemployment”
Yılmaz said, "We are not in the desired position for unemployment, and in this process, we have been producing a lot of jobs. The number of people employed in Turkey was around 19 million in 2002. Today we have increased to 28 million at the point we have reached. “But unfortunately, unemployment has not dropped much.”
