US President Donald Trump acknowledged the existence of the audio recording of journalist Jamal Khashoggi's murder but said he has not listened to what he called very violent, very vicious and terrible.

US President Donald Trump acknowledged the existence of the audio recording of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's murder inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul but said he has not listened to what he called the "suffering tape", in an interview broadcast on a TV channel.

Describing the recordings as "very violent, very vicious and terrible," Trump answered why he did not want to hear the recording, said: "Because it's a suffering tape, it's a terrible tape. I have been fully briefed on it. There's no reason for me to hear it."

Expressing that Saudi Arabia is a good ally for them at every turn and that they do not want to lose their allies, Trump said, "I do not know" while responded to the question of the journalist asked, "If the Crown Prince, bin Selman, lied to him about the murder."
