Participating in a TV program Customs and Trade Minister Bülent Tüfenkçi, made statements about economic sanctions on the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government [KRG].
Tüfenkçi explained that they work for an alternative door to Habur Border Gate, said they take these measures against the government of Masoud Barzani.
Tüfenkçi said, “Currently Habur is open now. A decrease in vehicle entry and exit experienced as reciprocally. Controls were also intensified. In Northern Iraq, a referendum has been held despite all the excuses of Turkiye, and this will have consequences.”
"Nusaybin Ovaköy will be alternate for Habur”
Stating that Nusaybin Ovaköy will be alternative to Habur, Tüfenkçi lastly said: “One of the four scheduled in exports is done with northern Iraq. We are working on an alternative to Habur gate. Nusaybin Ovaköy will be an alternative to Habur.”
