“We are now seeing a very large acceleration in cases in the US. Therefore, it does have that potential to become the center of the coronavirus pandemic,” she said.
In the USA, 46,450 cases have been confirmed with coronavirus and there have been 593 deaths, according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the second-most active cases in the world after Italy.
