YPG / PKK destroys some military fortifications in northeast Syria

The YPG/PKK has destroyed some of its military fortifications in northeast Syria, the US Central Forces Command has announced Friday.

U.S. Central Forces Command (CENTCOM) announced that the YPG/PKK had destroyed some of its military fortifications in northeast Syria following a phone call with U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Turkish National Defense Secretary Hulusi Akar on August 22.

"Within 24 hours of the phone call between U.S. SECDEF and Turkish MINDEF to discuss security in northeast Syria, the SDF destroyed military fortifications, Aug 22. This demonstrates SDF's commitment to support implementation of the security mechanism framework," CENTCOM said on twitter.

The statement did not provide information on which area the military fortifications were destroyed and how many military fortifications had been destroyed.
