Attack on Police in Mardin: 2 injured
Clash took place after the police asked identity card from suspected people in Mardin’s Kızıltepe, two policemen were wounded.
It was stated that two police were wounded in the conflict that took place after the police asked identity card from 3 suspected people. It was learned that attackers run away taking advantage of the dark.
Event, took place at 21.00 in the streets of the town of Mesopotamia Neighborhood. According to the information, police patrolled with a civilian car and approached to 3 suspects ask identity card. Conflict happened after the suspects responded with gun fire. It was stated that the assailants fled after bombing police vehicle.
Named KA and YD policemen were wounded in the attack. When the news was given, a large number of police and ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Wounded police were taken to Kızıltepe State Hospital.
Mardin Governor Mustafa Yaman, Provincial Police Chief Hasan Onar, District Governor of Kızıltepe Ahmet Odabas District Police Chief Aykut Çetinkaya came to the hospital and visited injured police. It was seen that the police take extensive security measures around the hospital.
