British ambassador: Gulen is behind the Turkiye’s coup but not a terrorist organization
British Ambassador to Turkiye Richard Moore, who responded to the questions of CNN Turk's Hakan Çelik, made a new statement about the 15 July coup attempt and their attitudes towards FETO.
On the question of, “Turkiye sees FETO as behind the July 15 coup attempt, does the UK see it like this?” Said Richard Moore, the British Ambassador to Turkiye, that they did not recognize the Gulen organization as a “terrorist organization” because it required a certain process.
“But that does not matter,” Moore said, and added that, “We know well that the Gulen movement is behind this coup attempt.”
Moore stated that the coup attempt happened only two days after the Prime Minister Theresa May came to the fore and it was the first international crisis the new government faced.
Moore, who also spoke about saying that he is a “man of the British deep state”, said, “Turkish people love conspiracy theories. We do not want to divide Turkiye as Britain, they are ridiculous allegations. A stronger Turkiye coincides with the interest of Britain.”
