An attacker drove his private car into a mosque in Colmar, France. No one was injured in the incident except the attacker, while property damage occurred at the mosque.

The attacker injured himself in the throat with a knife and is being treated in hospital and is due to undergo surgery.

While no information could be obtained about whether the incident was a terrorist attack, Yacine K., who is stated to have been born in 1980, said that he has previously been charged with violence and driving without a license.

Police say the investigation into the reasons behind the attack is ongoing and no explosives have been found in the vehicle.
